The basics
What Is a Custom Balloon Installation?
If it hangs overhead, stretches across a room, takes a shape or carries a logo, we treat it as an installation.
A custom balloon installation is designed for one specific space and built where it will stand. It's usually bigger or more structural than an arch, garland or column: a ceiling of balloons over a dance floor, a cloud above the sweetheart table, a 30 ft entrance arch for a store opening, a giant mosaic number, a walk-through tunnel or a sculpture of a logo. This is where balloon decor turns into balloon art.
Since every installation is made for one room, the process starts with measurements and a design rather than a price list. It's the right choice when the space is large, the event is high-profile or you want something guests haven't seen before. For standard pieces, see balloon arches, garlands, walls, columns and backdrops.
What we install
Types of Custom Balloon Installations
These are the installations Denver venues, brands and hosts ask about most.
Balloon ceilings
A balloon ceiling fills the air above the room: helium balloons pressed against the ceiling with ribbons trailing down, air-filled balloons hung upside down at staggered heights, or garlands draped wall to wall. It turns a plain hall, a gym or a brewery event room into something guests stop to look up at, and it's a favorite for prom, quinceañeras, weddings and holiday parties. At our altitude, helium ceilings use larger balloons with float treatment so they stay up through the night.
Hanging balloons, canopies and chandeliers
Garlands hung above a long table, a balloon canopy over a dance floor or under a tent, and balloons wrapped around an existing chandelier (or a balloon chandelier built on a hoop) all bring decor to eye level and above without taking floor space. Barn and lodge venues with open beams are natural fits.
Balloon clouds
Picture a puffy, airborne cluster of white and clear balloons, sometimes flecked with pastel or metallic accents, hung above a table or used in place of a backdrop. Baby showers, cloud-nine themes and dreamy wedding tables use them most.
Balloon drops
A balloon drop lets hundreds of balloons fall from a net or bag overhead at a set moment: the midnight countdown, a gender reveal, a grand entrance, the end of a graduation or a product launch. We rig the drop before guests arrive, and it's released with a pull cord at the right second.
Balloon sculptures and balloon art
Large balloon sculptures take a shape people recognize: a giant number, a mountain peak, a pine tree, a cake, a mascot, a logo. Sculptures for schools, galleries and brand events can be built life-size or larger.
Balloon trees, palm trees and topiaries
Balloon palm trees for luau and pool parties, topiaries for formal events and balloon Christmas trees for lobbies and office parties are freestanding pieces that work like balloon columns with a shape on top.
Balloon tunnels
A tunnel is a row of arches set close together so guests walk through them. It makes a memorable wedding entrance, a school hallway walkway, a fun-run finish line or a store-opening entry.
Balloon mosaics, number towers and marquee letters
A mosaic fills a number, letter or shape frame with small balloons, like a pixel picture made of latex. Mosaic numbers and letters spell an age, an initial or a class year, and marquee letters wrapped in balloons add light. They're among our most requested pieces for birthdays and graduations.
Balloon wreaths and giant balloons
Balloon wreaths frame a front door or a welcome sign. Giant balloons (36 inches and up, sometimes stuffed with confetti) create big moments for gender reveals, proposals and photo shoots.

Process
How a Custom Installation Comes Together
Bigger builds take a little more planning. This is how we run them.
- 1
Brief
Tell us the event, date, venue and the idea. Photos, mood boards and brand guides all help.
- 2
Site details
We confirm room size, ceiling height, rigging points, power, load-in times and venue rules, either in person or from your photos and measurements.
- 3
Design and quote
You get a design plan and a written quote. Large builds are priced by scope, not by the foot.
- 4
Build day
We load in during the venue's window, build on-site and walk the room with you before doors open.
- 5
Strike
We take everything down at the end of the night or the next morning, depending on the venue.
Venue rules to ask about early: downtown hotels, event halls and breweries often set load-in and strike windows, ask vendors for proof of liability insurance (a certificate of insurance), limit helium tanks, ban tape on walls and need approval before anything hangs from the ceiling. Mountain and foothills venues can add long drives and tight access roads. We check all of it before quoting, so build day has no surprises.
Pricing
How Much Do Balloon Installations Cost in Denver?
Custom installations start at $450 and grow with size and complexity.
| Installation | Starting at |
|---|---|
| Balloon mosaic number or letter, 3 ft | $250 |
| Balloon mosaic number or letter, 5 ft | $425 |
| Custom balloon installation | $450 |
| Marquee letter or number rental | $50 each |
| Ceilings, drops, tunnels and sculptures | Custom quote |
Large builds are quoted once we have the room measurements. Venue load-in rules, mountain travel and late-night strike can add to the total.
What sets an installation's price: the area or length covered, how many balloons and what sizes, rigging and lift needs (ceiling height matters), helium, labor hours, overnight or after-hours load-in, insurance paperwork and a same-night teardown. Send your venue and ceiling height and we'll scope it properly.

Installations are for the events where guests walk in and stop in their tracks.

- Christmas and holiday parties: balloon Christmas trees, snowy winter wonderland ceilings and lobby builds.
- Halloween: spooky sculptures, black-and-orange garlands and themed walk-through tunnels.
- Weddings: a cloud over the sweetheart table, a ceiling over the dance floor and a drop for the first dance or send-off.
- Gender reveals: a pink or blue drop from overhead, an oversized confetti balloon or a cloud that hides the answer.
- Prom, homecoming and graduation: a ceiling over the gym floor, a tunnel at the door and a mosaic of the class year.
- Quinceañeras: a ceiling over the dance floor, an entrance tunnel for the court and a mosaic of her initial.
- Birthdays: a mosaic of the new age, plus a drop at the big moment for milestone years.
Timing
Booking Lead Times for Balloon Installations
Give large installations three to six weeks.
Smaller pieces like a mosaic number or a home balloon drop can often be booked one to two weeks out. Ceilings, tunnels, sculptures and anything at a hotel or event venue need three to six weeks for design, venue sign-off and ordering custom colors. December weekends, New Year's Eve, prom season in spring, May graduations and the June-to-October wedding stretch fill first.

Questions
Custom Balloon Installations in Denver: FAQ
How much do balloon installations cost?
Our custom installations start at $450. Mosaic numbers start at $250 and marquee letters at $50 each. Ceilings, drops, tunnels and sculptures are quoted per project based on size, rigging and labor.
What is a balloon ceiling?
Balloons filling the space overhead: helium balloons floating against the ceiling with ribbons hanging down, air-filled balloons hung at staggered heights, or garlands draped across the room.
What is a balloon drop?
Hundreds of balloons released from a net or bag overhead at a set moment, such as the New Year's Eve countdown, a gender reveal, a grand entrance or a send-off.
How many balloons go into a balloon drop?
About 100–250 for a home or small room, and 500–1,500 or more for a dance floor or ballroom. The drop area and ceiling height set the count.
What is a balloon mosaic?
It's a frame shaped like a number, letter or symbol, packed with small balloons in a pattern so it reads like a pixel image. Birthdays, graduations and anniversaries use them most.
Do helium ceilings work at Denver's altitude?
Yes, with adjustments. Thinner air gives helium less lift, so we use larger balloons, light ribbon and float treatment, and fill them the day of the event. Helium ceilings look their best for about 8–12 hours.
How much notice does a balloon installation need?
Allow three to six weeks for ceilings, tunnels, sculptures and anything at a venue. Smaller pieces, such as a mosaic number or a balloon drop at home, often need just one to two weeks.
Do venues allow balloon installations?
Most do, with rules. Venues commonly ask for vendor liability insurance, set load-in and strike times, and may limit helium, tape and anything hung from the ceiling. We confirm the rules before quoting.
What is balloon art?
Sculptures and large designed pieces made from balloons, from giant numbers and logos to characters and full installations. It's different from twisted balloon animals at a kids' party.
